Response: Prototype Presentations

The presentations this week were fairly nerve-racking, as I'm sure most of you would agree. Well, maybe I should rephrase. The hours leading up to the presentation were nerve-racking; the actual meeting itself wasn't half as bad as I thought.

It was awesome to get to see my whole group's polished up designs after our mini-critiques the week before. Everyone really took the suggestions to heart and turned out some fabulous designs. To know that we're actually listening to each other and respecting each other's opinions is a part of the design that process that I truly enjoy.

Knowing that I had to explain my design to a group of peers and professors helped me make more thoughtful designs. Whenever I made a typography choice or a color change, I would try to imagine what I would tell the group as to why I did what I did. I think I can apply that kind of critical thinking to my future designs and hopefully produce better and more complete looking pieces. This was also great professional practice as I'm sure I'll have to explain myself many a time wherever I end up working.

I also just want to comment that everyone in my group (Nick, Andrea and Brittany) all did amazing jobs and I think we're going to have a kickass final product based on Nick's beautiful creative direction :)
